Supplementing an opioid-based cannabis regimen to control pain may result in lower doses of opioids being required to achieve adequate analgesia. Lower doses of opioids will reduce the number of deaths from overdoses. This is an example of a pharmacological interaction with cannabinoids that could be beneficial.
CBD, THC and chemotherapy. Limited preclinical research indicates that if Sera Labs CBD Oil or THC is administered along with the first drugs of chemotherapy, this could be enhanced and, consequently, the dose of highly toxic chemotherapy needed to treat cancer could be reduced.
If this translates into the experience of the people, it could be a huge benefit. However, if pure Sera Labs CBD Oil delays the metabolism of chemotherapy, dangerously elevated levels of a toxic drug may accumulate unless the dose of chemotherapy is reduced and administered appropriately. The fact that cannabinoids make radiation and chemotherapy more tolerable and supposedly more effective is an area worth studying.
